Bernie Sanders’ 1992 Cancer Registry Law: How much is breast cancer increasing in U.S. today?

The first piece of legislation that then- freshman Congressman Bernie Sanders drafted and  successfully passed, was The 1992 Cancer Registries Amendment Act.

But Bernie’s  law has not yet been implemented, thanks to 23 years of successful  stonewalling by the National Cancer Institute and  the Centers for Disease Control.

Sanders’ much-needed federal law  creates a uniform state-based  cancer  reporting system that includes all 50 state, the District of Columbia and   U.S. Territories, along with a centralized data bank within the federal Centers for Disease Control. The Sanders’ Registry can tell us how much breast cancer is increasing each year in younger women, for example,  and which age groups have the highest rates of breast cancer.  This is important information for those of us who want to find ways to stop breast cancer before it starts.

Why are our  federal cancer agencies continuing to block the U.S. public from knowing the extent of our current breast cancer epidemic?

Without Bernie’s  central cancer data bank, the U.S. public cannot track  how much breast cancer is increasing within different age groups or ethnic groups  and/or within different sections of the country throughout the U.S.   This is a ridiculous and unacceptable  situation.

Without such a central data base that the Sanders Law requires, the U.S. public continues to remain in the dark about our ongoing  breast cancer  epidemic

U.S. Breast Cancer Statistics 2015

The National Cancer Institute, the Centers for Disease Control and many Big Pharma- sponsored breast cancer foundations. including the American Cancer Society and Susan G Komen for the Cure  want us to believe that breast cancer is a static situation. Each year they tell us the same thing: “One out of every 8 U.S. women can expect to develop breast cancer in her lifetime.”

This is a  fear-mongering and no-help  statistic. This is similar to saying the U.S. has an  annual programmed breast cancer hurricane and 260,000 women will again end up diagnosed with breast cancer by the end of the year… year after year.

Without knowing the  actual  number of women in the U.S. diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year,  compared to last year and the year before that,  it is also difficult for Busting Breast Cancer and other prevention organizations to show how our programs or recommended lifestyle changes are able to change our current breast cancer statistics!

Fully implementing Bernie Sanders’ 1992 Cancer Registries Amendment Law will give us the standardized up-to-date national data we need to help stop breast  cancer before it starts.

Please contact your congressman/congresswoman and senators today.  Congressional members of all stripes should support the full implementation of Bernie Sanders’  1992   Cancer Registries Amendment Act.

Please help us STOP the Centers for Disease Control & the National Cancer Institute from continuing to stonewall Bernie Sanders’ 1992 Cancer Registries Amendment Act

It is THE LAW!!!!!  and it has been for 23 years now; but it must be fully implemented!

Please Note: Since  the U.S. government  has not yet created the legally mandated  national  cancer registry, as legislated by Bernie Sanders’ 1992 law, the U.S. public now receives national cancer statistics from a private organization, North American Association of Central Cancer Registries, founded in 1987 and funded by the cancer  treatment industry, the American Cancer Society  and the Centers for Disease Control.

The data generated by the NAACCR is based on primary tumor information, not on the number of individuals diagnosed with cancer in any one year. This means U.S. cancer statistics cannot be compared to cancer statistics from other countries as the U.S. counts tumors, while other nations count people. This year the  NAACCR published  an annual report  to the nation  which gives us tumor data from 1975 to 2011.

Placenta-Based Creams,Conditioners & Syngenta’s Atrazine = Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Placenta-based skin creams and hair conditioners & the chemical estrogen, atrazine…

may be key to high rates of  triple negative breast cancer

in younger women who relax/straighten their ethnic hair

Researchers focused on triple negative breast cancer still cannot figure out why African American, African and Ashkenazi Jewish women all have higher rates of so-called triple negative breast cancer than Euro-American (white) women.  Solving this puzzle should be helpful in stopping most triple negative breast cancer before it starts.

In my book, Busting Breast Cancer: 7 Simple Steps to Protect our Daughters/Ourselves from this Unnecessary Disease, I describe how these same population groups often use placenta-based (high estrogen) hair conditioners, once they have processed or straightened their  extremely curly hair.

I also note that research, beginning in 1996, shows how using placenta-based whitening skin creams and placenta-based hair conditioners on a regular basis, can induce early breast bud formation in young children, which goes away, once the placenta-based products are stopped. There is also an abundance of information showing that chemical estrogens and other toxins, absorbed by a pregnant women, flow through the umbilical cord to the fetus, where breast bud cell damage can happen in utero.

It is therefore possible that African (Nigerian and Ghanaian), African-American and Ashkenazi Jewish infant girls are often  born with damaged or mutated breast buds, if their mothers used these placenta products while pregnant. Such damaged or mutated breast cells can be  an important supporting role in the development of breast cancer.

Following the metabolic theory of cancer, all it can take is a  constant acidic American diet of  meat and dairy with added antibiotics and growth hormones, along with   high amounts of sugar and white flour-based foods (glucose), to turn    a twenty or thirty-year-old woman’s  body into an acidic breast cancer- making machine, as  healthy breast cells are transformed into breast cancer cells.

Meanwhile, Nigerian and Ghanaian girls and women  usually eat a vegetable diet, grown on land treated with the insecticide atrazine, which has now contaminated these nations’ water supplies with the highest levels of this inflammatory chemical hormone in the world.

Again… following the metabolic theory of cancer, weakened breast cells combined with  acidic  atrazine-laced water, can create an acidic body that turns the women into  cancer-making machines… as healthy cells are quickly transformed into fermenting sugar-loving breast cancer cells.

Women who want to see an end to this world-wide increase in triple negative breast cancer, especially among our younger women, need to find ways to educate the African American, African and Ashkenazi Jewish communities about the dangers of these placenta hair conditioners… during and after pregnancy… not to mention the need to somehow create low-sugar and low-hormone based diets.

Meanwhile, atrazine, the second most popular herbicide in the U.S., needs to be banned in North America and the African continent. The European Union banned the toxic pesticide in 2004. In 2012, Syngenta, the manufacturer of atrazine,  agreed to pay a hundred and five million dollars to reimburse more than a thousand water systems in Missouri and Illinois  for the cost of filtering atrazine from drinking water.

Syngenta was formed in 2000 by the merger of  the agri side of  AstraZenaca and Novartis, two pharmaceutical companies that manufacture  block buster breast cancer drugs including  Arimedex and Faslodex.  So one company helps increase breast cancer rates in women, while their parent companies sell drugs that try to stop breast cancer from killing women.

Younger Florida Women Face Rising Breast Cancer Rates

Key West Florida: More Florida women, under 50 years old, are being diagnosed with invasive breast cancer each year.  In 1984 only 53 out of 100,000 younger women in the state were diagnosed; by 2008 that number had jumped to 74 out of 100,000; a  1.7 percent annual increase, according to the Florida  Statewide Cancer Registry.

Florida women are not alone. In 2007, 83 out of 100,000 Massachusetts women under 50 were diagnosed with the invasive disease, while in Colorado that year, the  number was 70/100,000.   Since the mid 80’s, younger women under 50 in all three states have faced annual increases of 0.9 to 2.3 percent.

In contrast, British women under 50 are at 1970 U.S.levels with only 42/100,000 women under 50 being diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2010.  Why this great disparity between the two countries?

“Much higher use of birth control drugs by U.S. women and no federal laws banning growth hormones from  U.S. dairy and meat products  are two contributing factors to our high  breast cancer rates,” according to Susan Wadia-Ells, founding director of the National Breast Cancer Prevention Project/Busting Breast Cancer, now based in Key West.  The six- year- old virtually-volunteer non-profit is focused on translating new research on the causes of breast cancer into healthy prevention steps  individual women can follow.

Most breast cancer funds in Florida and elsewhere still ignore teaching this new prevention information; instead 98% of breast cancer funding remains focused on detection or mammograms and on “finding the cure.”

Bucking the tide, Wadia-Ells’ non profit teaches individual women 7 Simple Steps, including  using vitamin D3 supplements,  safe tanning;  choosing hormone-free birth control methods, using shower filters and eating a low-white/ high-greens diet; all  simple, inexpensive and yet significant ways to help stop breast cancer before it starts.

“Given our for- profit sick care system, U.S.women are currently the only group with the self -interest and the ability to stop most breast cancer before it starts.” said Wadia-Ells.

The Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Book; authors not interested in prevention

Stopping Breast Cancer Before it Starts is Not Their Job

Women are the only group with the self-interest and power to prevent most breast cancer

You might think the authors of The Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Book, each a clinician and senior professor in the field of breast cancer research, would offer readers the most up-to-date information on how to prevent breast cancer from happening.

But… you would be wrong.

Instead, the new book devotes only 12 out of 412 pages to educating women on the importance of prevention. Here are the book’s  major recommendations:

  • Have doctors remove your ovaries & breasts
  • Take folate supplements if you drink alcohol
  • Exercise

Sadly, the authors have ignored more than twenty years of research that now provides us a long list of specific known and probable causes and subsequent lifestyle changes that can significantly reduce a woman’s breast cancer risk.  Here are three choices that are natural, safe, healthy, simple and inexpensive.

  • Use hormone-free IUDs or have a tubal ligation so you can avoid taking birth control drugs.     WHY? The progestin in all contraceptive drugs can initiate breast cancer and exponentially accelerate the growth of tumor cells.
  • Use safe year- round tanning and/or D3 supplements to raise your vitamin D3 blood serum levels above 50 ng./ml.   WHY?  This level of D3 enables your healthy breast cells to destroy any mutated cells.

Like most breast “health” books and breast cancer “awareness” organizations, The Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Book  appears intently focused on diagnosing the disease: (think… “Are you sick yet?”) and on treating the disease (think…” Let us help you!’).

Yes… these are important tasks; they are also the profit-making end of our national breast cancer industry.

Sadly, The Mayo Clinic, like most other non-profit and for-profit cancer centers in the U.S. , remains strictly focused on the bottom line.  Helping women stay healthy is not a profitable undertaking. Stopping the disease from happening in the first place is apparently not their job.

Meanwhile, an increasing percentage of U.S. women,  of all ages, and those under 45,  are  being diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.

  • A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found a 2% annual increase over the past three decades in late-stage metastatic breast cancer in women under 40 years, using 8 % to 18 % population samples, created by the National Cancer Institute.
  •  American Cancer Society estimates show an 11.8 % annual increase since 2007 in new cases of invasive breast cancer in women under 45 years old.
  • Between 2006 and 2009,  an average of 22,500 women , under 45 years old, were diagnosed each year  with invasive breast cancer,  according to state -based data from 99% of the U.S. population, as reported by the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR).

Why is  more breast cancer happening to our younger women, than ever before?

Who is helping women learn how to stop breast cancer before it can start?

How can we turn off this faucet of more and more breast cancer?

The Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Book ignores these three questions. Instead, the Clinic’s book, published in 2012,  is a dramatic example of why women cannot depend on the Mayo Clinic,  or virtually any cancer center or breast health center (aka mammogram clinic),  to be up-to-date on how individuals can stop breast cancer before it starts. (mammograms may detect; they certainly do not prevent.)

We  need to realize that given our current for-profit sick-care system, individual women are the only group in the United States today,  that has both the self interest and the power to actually stop most breast cancer before it starts.

Put these three books on your reading list today if you are serious about lowering your breast cancer risk:

Busting Breast Cancer: 7 Simple Steps Ebook Series –Volume 1.. Birth Control Drugs by Susan Wadia-Ells PhD

This short $3.99 ebook encourages women to try a hormone-free IUD or have a tubal ligation as alternatives to birth control drugs. The book also discusses natural ways to balance hormones if you now use birth control drugs for skin, menstrual or other hormone-related issues. Finally this small ebook offers a good summary of the most important  studies linking birth control drug use to breast cancer, including Josef Penniger’s recent and startling  research on how progestin drugs ( think all birth control drugs, some HRT drugs and some fertility drugs) exponentially increase a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer. This is the only book like it on the subject.

The Vitamin D3 Solution:  A 3 Step Solution to our Most Common Health Problem, by Michael Holick, MD, PhD

More and more research shows that most women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer have vitamin D3 levels under 50 ng/ml, while women with D3 blood levels over 50 ng/ml are rarely diagnosed with the disease. Dr Michael Holick’s book describes how using safe levels of indoor and outdoor tanning can offer most people enough UVB rays to make their own vitamin D3. Holick also helps readers choose appropriate levels of D3 supplements, with or without tanning, to raise your blood level up to that protective 50-80 ng/ml level.  This is the only book like it on this subject.

The Blood Sugar Solution: The UltraHealthy Program for Losing Weight, Preventing Disease, and Feeling Great Now! by Mark Hyman, MD

Numerous studies show how cancer busting  foods we eat everyday can balance hormones, lower inflammation,  and thus block breast tumors from happening.

·        avoid dairy products with added hormones or switch to a dairy-free diet

·        increase your intake of cruciferous vegetables and omega 3 fatty acids

·        avoid high amounts of  sugar from high glycemic foods

·        drink chlorine-free filtered water

Anti-Cancer, by the late David Servan-Schreiber MD, a 20 year cancer survivor, was the first best seller in this field. Now Mark Hyman MD, a functional or prevention-oriented physician,  has just published an up-to-date best seller on this critical subject of cancer-blocking foods.
