Ann Fonfa, founding director of the award-winning Annie Appleseed Project, recently joined Busting Breast Cancer’s National Advisory Board.
We are honored to have this pioneer educator in alternative approaches to cancer prevention and treatment join our newly formed advisory group.
Fonfa, diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 1993 at the age of 44, underwent a mastectomy, but refused radiation and chemotherapy. Fonfa has since studied alternative healing therapies, tried many of them, and has remained cancer-free since 2001.
Fonda’s website, www.annieappleseedproject.org, receives over 95,000 visits each month. It is a clearinghouse for information and useful links on alternative cancer treatment –including notices and summaries of scientific conferences on alternative and complementary approaches to treating cancer.
Fonfa is also a board member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition, Advocacy Chair for the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, a member of the Society for Integrative Oncology, and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure LGBT National Advisory Council. Fonfa lives in Del Ray Beach, Florida.
