Birth Control Drugs = More Breast Cancer
Busting Breast Cancer does the Arithmetic

New data shows birth control drugs are a probable cause of  the12% annual increase in invasive breast cancer now happening among  younger U.S. women

Using published federal data, Busting Breast Cancer has calculated that breast cancer is increasing by 12 percent a year among women 45 and younger. Older women, 65 and older,  now face a six percent annual  increase.

U.S. women use 47.5 percent of all birth control drugs sold around the world. But this group makes up only 4.5 percent of the world’s childbearing population, according to Busting Breast Cancer data.

“Each young woman needs to do the arithmetic. Then we need to understand why many more European and most  Asian women choose a hormone-free IUD or  tubal ligation, over today’s problematic synthetic progestin-based birth control drugs,” said Susan Wadia-Ells, founding director of Busting Breast Cancer and author of the forthcoming book,

Busting Breast Cancer: 7 Simple Steps to Protect our Daughters from this unnecessary disease.

Dozens of research studies now indicate that  the $3.8 billion U.S. contraceptive drug market  is a probable cause of the increasing incidence of invasive breast cancer among U.S. women of childbearing age.
“Women are the only group in the U.S. today who have the self interest and the power to lower these unacceptable and historically high cancer rates,” said Wadia-Ells.
“You find people less wanting to think about birth control pills, hormone replacement therapy and fertility drugs than about pesticides, bras and deodorants….”

Some Foods can Block Breast Cancer Metastasis

More than 40 plant-based compounds,  that block or slow down breast and some other types of cancer metastasis, were  identified in a study published on line last month. Some of these protective foods include: amino acids; vitamin D3;  ginseng extract; lycopene, found in tomatoes; curcumin, found in tumeric; pomegranate juice and fish oil.

The study, by  pharmacology professor Gary Meadows, published in Cancer and Metastasis, was surprisingly , the first to focus on metastatic-blocking foods and supplements.

“Earlier studies by dozens of researchers have clearly identified many of these same foods as helping stop breast cancer before it can begin,” said Susan Wadia-Ells, author of the forthcoming book, Busting Breast Cancer: 7 Simple Steps to protect our daughters from this unnecessary disease, and founding director of the National Breast Cancer Prevention Project/Busting Breast Cancer.

“It’s comforting to know that women can enjoy both preventative and critical life-saving benefits from eating these healthy and inexpensive foods and supplements,” said Wadia-Ells.
